Plot Synopsis

GUNTUCKY is a reality series that follows Steven Sumner and his family, as they work Knob Creek Gun Range, just outside of Louisville, Kentucky. At their family-owned business, customers can try out, pawn and purchase a broad spectrum of legal firearms, ranging from cannons to rare collectables. The Range has been in the Sumner family for three generations, led by 'Gran-pa' Biff Sumner Jr., until he recently relinquished control of the company to his responsible and reliable son, Kenny, who is officially the boss even though Biff still calls the shots. The Sumners include: Steven, Kenny's irrepressible brother and Range Supervisor, who sports a trademark mohawk and often gets creative for range customers who want shooting experiences beyond paper targets; Chad, Kenny's son and Sales Manager, who works with customers wanting elaborate, live-ammo fantasies brought to life on the range, helping to stage everything from Civil War battles to 1934 mobster takedowns; Stephanie, Steven's daughter and Office Manager, who, unlike her father, is mature, organized and grounded -- and may be the first family member to cross the county line; and Payton, Steven's son and Maintenance Clerk, who is unmotivated most days, preferring to hang with his buddies, but occasionally, when interested, takes part in customers' wild and explosive fantasy experiences.
GUNTUCKY returned for its second season on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on CMT. In the Season 2 opener, Kenny tends to business negotiations and tricky construction problems during the expansion at the range, while Steven works with the wife of an injured military veteran, Gran-pa Biff volunteers to help a mom overcome her fear of guns, and the shop employees wager a shooting competition to decide who gets to purchase the highly-anticipated Ruger Commander that just arrived.
