Plot Synopsis

Picking up one year after the events of the final episode of THE GOOD WIFE, this spinoff series focuses on an enormous financial scam that has destroyed the reputation of a young lawyer, Maia Rindell, while simultaneously wiping out her mentor and godmother Diane Lockhart's savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, they join Lucca Quinn at one of Chicago's preeminent law firms. THE GOOD FIGHT debuted on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 8pm on CBS and on-demand on CBS All Access. After premiere night, new episodes are available weekly on Sundays only on CBS All Access.

Season 2 of THE GOOD FIGHT premiered on Sunday, March 4, 2018 on CBS All Access. With the world going insane and the Chicago murder rate on the rise, Diane, Lucca, Maia and the rest of the law firm find themselves under psychological assault when a client at another firm kills his lawyer for overcharging. After a copycat murder, the firm begins to look at its own clients suspiciously. Meanwhile, Diane battles with a new partner at the firm, Liz Reddick-Lawrence. And Maia becomes harder and tougher after her parents' scandal puts her on trial. Finally, Lucca is brought back into Colin's orbit.

The third season of THE GOOD FIGHT premiered on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT on CBS All Access. In Season 3, Diane Lockhart tries to figure out whether you can resist a crazy administration without going crazy yourself, while Adrian Boseman and Liz Reddick-Lawrence struggle with a new post-factual world where the lawyer who tells the best story triumphs over the lawyer with the best facts. Meanwhile, Lucca Quinn balances a new baby with a new love, and Maia Rindell finds a new Mephistopheles in Roland Blum, a lawyer who is corruption incarnate. New episodes of THE GOOD FIGHT's 10-episode third season will be available on demand weekly on Thursdays. In the season opener, "The One About the Recent Troubles," a storm is brewing at Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart when revelations of past indiscretions involving a partner come to light. Right when she thought the world couldn't get any crazier, an incident at home pushes Diane to her breaking point. Meanwhile, Lucca is brought a new opportunity while Marissa teaches Maia to toughen up.

THE GOOD FIGHT returned for its fourth season on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as CBS All Access released the season opener, Season 4 finds Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart navigating a very different landscape. After they lost their biggest client, Chumhum, and their founding partner's name was tarnished, Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart was forced to accept an offer by a huge multi-national law firm, STR Laurie, to become a small subsidiary. Suddenly, all of their decisions can be second-guessed by the giant firm that is literally on top of them. While STR Laurie initially seem like benevolent overlords, we find Diane Lockhart and her colleagues chafing at their loss of independence while simultaneously investigating the emergence of a mysterious "Memo 618." In the season opener, "The Gang Deals with Alternate Reality," Diane Lockhart finds herself living in an alternate reality where Donald Trump was never elected and Hillary Clinton is the current President of the United States. While Diane's liberal self is overjoyed, she soon realizes how a different outcome of the 2016 election might have unexpected consequences.

Season 5 of THE GOOD FIGHT premiered on Thursday, June 24, 2021, as the first episode of the new season dropped on Paramount+. In the fifth season, Diane is forced to question whether it's appropriate for her to help run an African American law firm with Liz when the firm loses two top lawyers. Meanwhile, Marissa and the firm become entangled with Hal Wackner, a regular Chicagoan who decides to open his own courtroom in the back of a copy shop. A new episode of THE GOOD FIGHT's 10-episode fifth season dropped each Thursday on Paramount+ through August 26.

THE GOOD FIGHT returned for its sixth and final season on Thursday, September 8, 2022 on Paramount+, with Andre Braugher joining the cast as Ri'Chard Lane, a partner in the newly formed Reddick, Ri'Chard & Associates. Also John Slattery joins the show for the new season, portraying Lyle Bettencourt, a brilliant, sophisticated and sensitive physician who helps Diane through a crazy time. Season 6 has Diane feeling like she's going crazy, struggling with an uneasy sense of deja vu, with everything from Roe v. Wade, to voting rights, to Cold War aggressions returning. Meanwhile, the lawyers of Reddick & Associates wonder if the violence that they see all around them points to an impending civil war.
