Plot Synopsis

GOLDFATHERS is a reality series that follows three, small, gold-mining operations that battle nature, machines and themselves, as they try to get as much gold from the ground as possible before the frigid Alaskan winter shuts them down for the season. The three operations are: Mudminers (Tofty, Alaska), owned by Doug Baker, which is a mom-and-pop business that uses hydraulicing -- large-scale stripping with water -- to move up to 10,000 yards of dirt a day and whose fuel credit hasn't kept pace with the rising cost of fuel; CCR Mining (Harrison Creek, Alaska), which looks for gold for claim owner Clark Durant as workers Creighton Lapp and Chuck Tillian overcome mechanical malfunctions and permit problems; and "Goldfather" John Reeves (Fairbanks, Alaska), who owns 10,000 acres of patented land and uses treasure maps to direct his kids to a gold hotspot -- but when he finds the treasure buried 130 feet deep, will he keep digging or sell?
