Plot Synopsis

Four freshmen join the Omega Sigma fraternity at Indiana's Hayes University in 1986. Boy-next-door Joel, wannabe ladies man Eli, buttoned-downed conservative Jason, and handsome jock Brian navigate college life, trying to figure out who they are and who they want to be. Joel is the handsome and lovable boy next door who is determined to focus on his pre-med studies, but fraternity life and the crush he has on class beauty Christie could derail his plans. Eli boasts as if he's a big-time ladies man, but truth be told, he's still a virgin despite his raging hormones and a penchant for getting caught in compromising positions. Jason is a rich, buttoned-downed conservative who idolizes Ronald Reagan almost as much as he idolizes his preppy girlfriend, and he forsakes his father's fraternity for the sake of his friendship with the other guys. Brian is a handsome, scholarship baseball player, who trying to live up to the legacy of his pro-baseball player father, but his life doesn't revolve around baseball and his heart isn't always in the game. Reno is the quintessential fraternity guy who keeps the party alive at the Omega Sig house while serving as Joel's guide through the fraternity experience. Christie, the object of Joel's affection, is the beautiful, blonde girlfriend of the Omega Sig president, but she still enjoys spending time with Joel as friends. Zack is Joel's socially inept nudnik roommate who couldn't be more different than Joel even though they were supposedly matched through a personality profile. Chang is Eli's roommate, who doesn't want to be the stereotypical brainy student and is more interested in partying than studying. Professor Haines is an ultra-liberal professor with a chip on his shoulder and a streak of paranoia about the military-industrial complex. Stankowski (a.k.a. The Oracle) is Omega Sig's perpetual student, who has been a resident of the fraternity house for more than 10 years, and his room has a constant haze because of the numerous water pipes in use. Turob is a jovial, large, imposing figure who acts as the pledge drill sergeant, barking orders and introducing newbies to the chugging machine known as "The Beast."
