Plot Synopsis

This reboot of the GHOSTWRITER series from the 1990s follows four kids -- Ruben, Chevon, Donna, and Curtis -- brought together by a mysterious ghost who haunts a neighborhood bookstore and releases fictional characters into the real world. Whether they're tracking characters from "Alice's Adventures" or Mowgli from "The Jungle Book," the four new friends must team up to solve a mystery surrounding the ghost's unfinished business. The first seven episodes of GHOSTWRITER premiered on Friday, November 1, 2019, as Apple TV+ released the series on the same day the streaming network launched.

Apple TV+ released six additional episodes of GHOSTWRITER on Friday, May 1, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT. This batch of episodes comprise two, three-part stories.

On Friday, October 9, 2020 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, Apple TV+ released the first six episodes of GHOSTWRITER's second season. In the two-part season opener, "The Ghostly Paintbrush," when Ghostwriter seemingly brings Ruben's paintings to life, the kids think it's just for fun. But then, Ruben's brush goes missing. The kids must find the missing paintbrush before Ruben's living paintings become a disaster -- especially the dragon.

The entire 13-episode third season of GHOSTWRITER dropped on Friday, October 21, 2022 on Apple TV+. Featuring an entirely new cast and adventure, the latest installment dives into stories inspired by "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," "Charlotte's Web," "Bayou Magic" and more. When a ghost haunts a bookstore and releases fictional characters into the real world, a group of friends works to solve an exciting mystery surrounding the ghost's unfinished business. While tackling the big mystery, the young heroes embark on six curious adventures with characters inspired by L. Frank Baum's story "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz"; author Pablo Cartaya's "Leo! El Magnifico"; Beverly Cleary's novel "The Mouse and the Motorcycle"; Mick Jagger and Keith Richard's song "She's A Rainbow"; E.B. White's book "Charlotte's Web"; and Jewell Parker Rhodes' tale "Bayou Magic."
