Plot Synopsis

Based on the Elmore Leonard novel and the 1995 film of the same name, GET SHORTY is a one-hour dramedy series that centers on Miles Daly, who worked as muscle for a murderous crime ring in Nevada, but, for the sake of his 12-year-old daughter Emma, attempts to change professions and become a movie producer, laundering money through a Hollywood film. Miles partners with Rick Moreweather, a washed-up producer of low quality films, who tries to guide him through the maze of Hollywood. But instead of leaving the criminal world behind, Miles accidentally brings it with him to the City of Angels. When Miles returns to Los Angeles to pitch the script for "The Admiral's Mistress" to Rick, Amara, the Latina Godmother of a Nevada crime ring, takes an interest in investing in the film, triggering anxiety in Louis -- Miles' partner and buddy within the crime ring -- and anger in Yago, the violent but insecure nephew of Amara. EPIX premiered GET SHORTY on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT, debuting back-to-back new episodes.

The sophomore season of GET SHORTY premiered on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on EPIX. In the second season, Miles Daly struggles to reconcile his ambitions as a filmmaker and a family man with his skill set as a career criminal. His progress in Hollywood is jeopardized when the washed-up producer, with whom he partnered in season one, agrees to wear a Federal wire. Miles faces off with criminal financiers and with a Hollywood power-broker who could be the most dangerous of all. Joining the cast as a recurring guest star is Raymond Cruz, who will play Swayze, the brutal and murderous leader of a Latino prison gang who styles himself after Patrick Swayze, with long, flowing locks of hair and 80s-inspired dance moves. In addition to Cruz, new recurring cast for Season 2 includes Felicity Huffman, Steven Weber, Andrew Leeds, Amy Seimetz, Sonya Walger,and Alex Sawyer. In the season opener, "And What Have We Learned?," Miles, now in a dark place, works on a new project while anxiously awaiting the first cut of "The Admiral's Mistress"; Rick, leading a double life, comforts Amara when business goes south.

Season 3 of GET SHORTY on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT on EPIX. In the season opener, "What To Do When You Land," news travels fast that Miles Daley has been released from prison and he has made a plan for retaliation.

On Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT, EPIX premiered the Season 3 finale of GET SHORTY. In the season ender, "Should Not Throw Stones," Miles is questioned by detectives; Rick connects with a long-lost friend and finds comfort at a very 'loving' commune; Yago and Ed search out Amara's hidden stash.
