Plot Synopsis

GALLERY GIRLS follows the lives of seven dynamic and ambitious young women in New York City who tackle the cutthroat environment of the art world while vying for their dream jobs. From gallery openings and art shows to the hottest events in the city, these women share a passion for art but are divided between their Manhattan and Brooklyn lifestyles with vastly different views and tastes towards fashion, art and men. Attempting to juggle a chic and fabulous standard of living, the ladies tackle financial struggles, family issues and the pressures of jumpstarting their lives. The women are: Chantal Chadwick, who moved from Atlanta to New York at age 17 to pursue a career in dance but studied art history after an unfortunate injury -- and now has opened her own space, End of Century, with good friend Claudia; Kerri Lisa, a native New Yorker living in Manhattan, who holds a full-time job at a high-end luxury concierge service while juggling those responsibilities with an art internship; Liz Margulies, the daughter of a world-renowned art collector trying to build her own career with her father's connections, who struggled with drug addiction and didn't graduate from high school; Claudia Martinez, from the small Midwestern town of Flossmoor, Illinois, who interned with many of the art industry's elite throughout her years at Sarah Lawrence College before teaming with Claudia to opene End of Century, a hip boutique/gallery on Manhattan's Lower East Side; Angela Pham, a freelance photographer and aspiring artist from Orange County but now living in Brooklyn, who supplements her income with sporadic modeling jobs and waitressing at a dive bar; Amy Poliakoff, a Communications and Art History major at the University of Miami and currently living in Manhattan, who has held positions with the Wolfsonian Museum, the David Zwirner Gallery, the Paul Kasmin Gallery and the Leila Heller Gallery; and Maggie Schaffer, an ambitious young woman trying to make a name for herself in the art gallery world, who has many of the biggest names in the industry on her resume -- Eli Klein Fine Art, Cottelston Advisors and Christie's New York.
