Plot Synopsis

JACKASS meets MYTHBUSTERS as hosts Ryan Dunn and Jessica Chobot and a team of experts recreate stunts, replicate feats and engineer machines featured in films, television, videogames and comic books. In each 30-minute episode, the team brainstorms concepts, develops potential designs, and proves whether or not any of their ideas are worthwhile -- and finds out which ones are outrageously funny failures. For the premiere episode, the team outfits a go-kart with four Power Ups from Mario Kart: Lightning (by embedding wires from an electric dog collar into the steering wheel); Oil Slick (by using a pump to spray the driver with oil); Turtle Shell Launcher (by using an air cannon that shoots meatballs); and Turbo Boost (with nitrous oxide). Later episodes include stunts like spinning webs and swinging from them like Spiderman and teleporting like Captain Kirk. G4 aired the first episode as a sneak peek on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 9pm ET before airing the same episode one week later as the official series premiere. After Ryan Dunn died in a car accident on June 20, 2011, G4 pulled PROVING GROUND from its schedule after airing only one episode.
