Plot Synopsis

FROM HERE ON OUT is a half-hour scripted sitcom that centers on the adventures of an aging gay writer, Jimmy Randall, as he tries to get his dream project made into a television series at a fictionalized version of Here TV. After he sells his series, "Gay Dubai: International Gay Spy," to Taylor, the 18-year-old president of the network, Jimmy learns he has a tiny budget, many strings attached, and one big contingency that he must hire an openly gay leading man -- or the series will not go forward. After making that promise, Jimmy casts the sexy and talented Sam Decker to be the lead, but there's only one problem: Sam is secretly straight. So they hatch a plan to hide Sam's hetero shame and keep the show in production by conspiring to convince the network that they have become a gay couple. Now, Sam must live publicly as a gay man while he struggles each week to make a new television show with these people: Jimmy, who will do almost anything to get his television series made; pool boy Rico, who has a three-way with the guest actors and has cleaned megastar Eric Mutos' pool; diva maid wannabe actress Divina, who wastes filming time butchering her Scottish accent; Taylor, the network president with a dream, who helps them promote the show; and Dottie, who was Taylor's nanny and is now his receptionist. After working on set with a crew rebelling against their low pay and with talent flubbing their lines, Sam and Jimmy struggle to sell their relationship in the real world, trying to seal it with a public kiss and doing an interview for "OUT" magazine. FROM HERE ON OUT is directed by Sam Irvin and features guest stars Julie Brown, David Millbern, and Sam Pancake.
