Plot Synopsis

FOOD TRUCK NATION is a half-hour series that follows chef and food truck aficionado Brad Miller, as he travels across the United States to find the latest and greatest bites on wheels. He highlights the innovative chefs who push the boundaries of food and their customers' curious palates. During each 30-minute episode, Brad visits three trucks and their innovative chefs who continue to push the boundaries with their food, highlighting one-of-a-kind cuisine with cultural influences from across the globe. Whether it is handmade pastas that are made right before his eyes or crispy, monster-sized quesadillas loaded with chicken shawarma, over six half-hour episodes Brad showcases the chefs who are creating mouthwatering dishes that have customers continually coming back for more.

This series first debuted on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11pm ET/PT on Travel Channel with a sneak-peek episode titled "Smoked, Stuffed and Frozen Finds." In this episode, Brad first visits an Orange County food truck with a custom smoker on board. Then he heads to Austin, TX, to try classic Cajun dishes with a twist. Finally, in Los Angeles, he discovers an ice cream truck without a freezer. Two months later -- on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 10am ET/PT -- this sneak-peek episode made its Food Network debut.

Nine months later on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 12:30pm ET/9:30am PT, Cooking Channel debuted "Cheesy, Fresh and Fried," a second sneak-peek episode. In this installment, Brad starts off in Durham, NC, with a visit to American Meltdown, a food truck where Chef Paul Inserra is surprising customers with his innovative and mouthwatering spins on the classic grilled cheese sandwich. Then Brad heads to Minneapolis, MN, to visit Bibuta, where sushi master Billy Tserenbat has turned his truck into a veritable sushi bar on wheels and uses only the highest quality ingredients, like fresh tuna and wagyu beef. Finally, Brad boards the Drizzle truck in Long Beach, CA, where owner Jenny Diaz is combining fresh funnel cake and ice cream to create a whole new dessert that has customers lining up.

FOOD TRUCK NATION had its official series premiere on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 9pm ET/6pm PT on Cooking Channel. In the series opener, "Burgers, Pizza and Waffles," Brad begins in South Central Los Angeles, where food truck fare is being served at Billionaire Burger Boyz. Brad tries some classic pairings of burger and fries that are bigger, better and bolder, as hungry customers line up around the block for their Jambalaya Fries and Hello Burger -- an oversized beef patty stuffed with Cajun grilled shrimp. While in St. Paul, MN, Brad meets Chef Aaron Hargrave, the owner of Blue Fire Pizza, who turned his truck into a wood-fired oven that delivers perfect Neapolitan-style pizzas in under 90 seconds! Finally, Brad greets a husband and wife team in Durham, North Carolina, who serve Belgian waffles topped with cookie butter, fresh whipped cream and more from their truck called Belgian Waffle Crafters.

On Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 9pm ET/6pm PT, Cooking Channel premiered the second season of FOOD TRUCK NATION. In the season's first episode, "Pizza, Burgers and Cookies," Brad visits the Mile High City, Denver, where the family-run Simply Pizza Truck is cranking out crowd-pleasing Neapolitan-style pizzas in 90 seconds flat thanks to a massive wood-burning oven. Their menu ranges from the Hatch Pizza with shredded chicken and roasted green chilies to the Belgian Farmer Pizza with bacon, Brussels sprouts and goat cheese. Next, Brad heads south to Atlanta, where the Happy Belly truck is cooking up artisanal burgers that boast meats from their custom ceramic smoker. Finally, Brad travels to Las Vegas, NV, to find The Cookie Bar, where specialty cookies are infused with homemade spirits.

Cooking Channel premiered the Season 2 finale of FOOD TRUCK NATION on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 9pm ET/6pm PT. In the season ender, "Corn Dogs, Cheesesteaks and Ice Cream Sandwiches," Brad heads to Seattle, where Rob Killiam of Bread and Circuses is dishing out comfort food with a playful twist. Brad samples the Nacho Cheeseburger and the Pizza Supreme Corn Dog before heading across town to find the Peasant Food Manifesto truck, where owner Beth Clement is making comfort foods inspired by global cuisine. Brad tries her Kimchi Mac and Cheese as well as the Korean Cheesesteak. Finally, Brad heads to Hollywood for dessert at the Recess Ice Cream truck. Owner Jessica Lo Ibarra specializes in loaded ice cream sandwiches, and Brad tries a double chocolate cookie creation with chocolate ice cream and pieces of malted milk balls. Then he double dips with the French Toast Ice Cream Sandwich, which has blueberry cheesecake ice cream between battered and fried Texas toast.
