Plot Synopsis

Hosted by actress-turned-food celebrity Tia Mowry and popular food writer, photographer and social media star Donal Skehan, FOOD NETWORK STAR KIDS is a one-hour reality series that features 10 talented junior finalists participating in a variety of culinary, on-camera and social media challenges over six episodes, for the chance to become the first-ever winner, walking away with their own series on FoodNetwork.com and a feature in "Food Network Magazine." Throughout the season, Tia and Donal are joined by special guests -- including YouTube stars Gabriel Conte and Elise Strachan, comedian Loni Love, and breakout star of The Jungle Book Neel Sethi -- to test the junior finalists' creativity in the kitchen and their communication skills in front of the camera. The competitors in Season 1 are: Gracie Evans (Tampa, FL; age 9), Isaiah A. Hooks (Stroudsburg, PA; age 13), Nicholas Hornbostel (Vail, CO; age 11), Tyra Jefferson (Irmo, SC; age 11), Amber Kelley (Seattle, WA; age 13), Sydnie Jaye Meyers (Austin, TX; age 9), Lexi Shuster (Portchester, NY; age 9), Salvatore Soldo (Staten Island, NY; age 10), Sammy Voit (Bronx, NY; age 11), Liam Waldman (Los Angeles, CA; age 12).

Food Network premiered the finale of FOOD NETWORK STAR KIDS on Monday, September 26, 2016 at a special time, 7pm ET/PT, immediately following a five-hour marathon (2-7pm) of encore episodes. In the season ender, "The Most Important Meal of My Life," the three remaining junior finalists -- Amber, Isaiah, and Liam -- shoot sizzle reels to whet the appetites of mentors Tia Mowry and Donal Skehan as they shop for ingredients to prepare the most important meals of their lives. Back in the kitchen, the kids must prepare and present their final dishes, while their sizzle reels are played back to the mentors, to determine who will be named the first ever Food Network Star Kid and host their own series on FoodNetwork.com
