Plot Synopsis

Chef Rodelio Aglibot is a first-generation Filipino American who grew up in Hawaii and was involved in the opening of multiple restaurants in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago. According to his website, http://www.thefoodbuddha.com/, "He preaches that each step in preparing food starts with a generous thought, one's connection to Mother Earth, one's being and ultimately the being of another. Everything has a purpose, every motion, every step, every ingredient...each should be respected and acknowledged." In each episode, the Food Buddha travels to a different city. With the help of a local culinary guide, he visits three different restaurants, sampling everything on the menu and learning about his guide's personal and professional history. At the end of each episode, Rodelio returns to Sunda, his restaurant in Chicago, to create a new dish inspired by his recent travels. TLC first aired this program as a two-part special in June 2010, and Chef Rodelio visited New Orleans and San Francisco.
