Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by series star Anna Paquin, FLACK is a one-hour dramedy series that centers on sharp and witty publicity maven Robyn, who's an expert at her craft but a complete self-saboteur when it comes to her personal life. Robyn's work as a crisis strategist at PR company Mills Paulson is fast-paced and unpredictable, as she counsels high-profile personalities in entertainment, fashion and sports. As an American PR executive living in London, Robyn must figure out how to make the best of bad situations and somehow manage to get out unscathed. Robyn's boss, Caroline, is a formidable and highly capable woman who takes no prisoners and makes no excuses. Dry as a bone with a sharp tongue and a sharper wit, she is exceptionally observant. Caroline has seen it all and done it all, and knows every button to push. Robyn's sister and confidant, Ruth, is a mother of two who loves her children but can't help longing for the life she used to enjoy before their arrival, Ruth is intent on trying to keep her inner fire alive -- often vicariously through her wayward sister. Robyn's foul-mouthed best friend Eve is also her colleague at Mills Paulson. Eve comes from money, influence and privilege -- she knows it and owns it. Eve represents the dark heart of the series, a morally bankrupt character who will ultimately face betrayal from those closest to her. Robyn's other co-worker, Melody, is the new girl in town, having just arrived in the bear pit of Mills Paulson, where she must eventually decide how much of her personal life she's prepared to sacrifice on the altar of her chosen profession. Robyn's boyfriend, Sam, was a bit of a playboy in his younger years, and is now doing his best to grow up. He wants to settle down and have kids, but that's the furthest thing from Robyn's mind -- especially with the charming and damaged ex-dancer Tom being in her N.A. class. The series opens with Robyn having to kill off the latest of many one-night-stand stories circulating in the tabloids about every "housewife's favorite" celebrity chef, Anthony Henderson (guest star Max Beesley), before the public is exposed to his womanizer tendencies.

Moving to Amazon Prime for Season 2 in the United States, the entire six-episode new season dropped on Friday, June 11, 2021, making its U.S. debut. The second season picks up from the events of the Season 1 finale which saw Robyn's work and home life collide catastrophically when she could no longer resist the temptations of her myriad of addictions. She has sacked PR intern Melody -- for her own good -- but closer relationships could be damaged beyond repair. Will Eve ever forgive Robyn, and on a broader scale, will Mills Paulson PR ever be the same again? Their boss Caroline has bigger fish to fry in a shakeup that could change her business forever. Throughout all this, the team will continue to keep the outrageous indiscretions of their celebrity clients firmly behind closed doors. Season 2 also welcomes guest stars Sam Neill, Daniel Dae Kim, Martha Plimpton, Jane Horrocks, Doon Mackichan, Kevin Bishop and Paul Ready. Stephen Moyer directs Episode 5 & 6. Arinze Kene, Marc Warren and Amanda Abbington return as guest stars.
