Plot Synopsis

FIRST TIME FLIPPERS is a half-hour series that follows naive property virgins as they use their minimal renovation skills to turn disaster homes into high-dollar properties. This series chronicles the highs and lows of renovation as homeowners take on their very first flip. DIY Network first aired this program on June 22, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT, with an episode about newlyweds Matt and Abby Shepard, who decided it was time to stop paying rent and start flipping houses. They bought their first project in Manayunk, right outside of Philadelphia, and they plan to live in the home while renovating it. Almost 19 months later, DIY Network aired back-to-back episodes on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 8-9pm ET/PT. On Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 8:30pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiered a new episode of FIRST TIME FLIPPERS, which marked the official series premiere, according to an April 22 press release from the cable channel. In this new episode, "Inspector Havoc," Phil and Sheri's unconventional methods of mule kicks, chainsaws and designer boots are working well until an unexpected visitor threatens to put an end to their beginner's luck. Season 2 of FIRST TIME FLIPPERS premiered on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on DIY Network, immediately following a four-hour marathon (5-9pm) of encore episodes. In the season opener, "To Beam or Not to Beam," best friends Blake and Tony have invested their life savings into their first flip. They need this flip to be successful, but the longer the flip takes, the more frustrated Tony becomes with his happy go lucky friend. Blake may have gone to school for architecture and know a thing or two about construction, but Tony needs Blake to work faster if they are to pull this flip off. Season 3 of FIRST TIME FLIPPERS premiered on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on DIY Network, immediately following a three-hour marathon (6-9pm) of encore episodes. In the season opener, "Side by Siding," Jean and her niece Elizabeth have worked together for years as land surveyors, and they have decided that their teamwork is strong enough to tackle their first house flip. While they start out optimistic, they realize they might have bitten off more than they can chew by flipping a house and a small cottage on the same lot. As things continue to go wrong at every turn, these ladies begin to doubt if they will ever finish their project. The fourth season of FIRST TIME FLIPPERS premiered on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on DIY Network. In the season opener, "Dancing on the Drop Ceiling," Daniel accidentally wins a dilapidated house in an auction, so he and his pregnant wife, Katie, must rush to finish the house before their baby's due date. With multiple delays and a serious lack of experience, the chances of these flippers finishing before their baby arrives gets slimmer and slimmer as the days progress. Season 6 of FIRST TIME FLIPPERS premiered on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 9-10pm ET/PT, as DIY Network debuted back-to-back new episodes. "Flue Season" (9pm): A husband-wife duo flip an oddly shaped lake house in Leitchfield, Kentucky, with a unique history. She has a vision for the house while he has the construction knowledge, but things start to go awry when he gets involved with the design elements. "Tropic Blunder" (9:30pm): A mother-daughter team flips their first house on the beautiful island of Kauai, HI. While the flipping newbies have real estate experience, a surprise visit from a building inspector quickly gets them off track. The ladies soon finds themselves in high water as the renovation proves to be far more difficult than expected.

DIY Network premiered the seventh season of FIRST TIME FLIPPERS on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 9-10pm ET/PT, debuting back-to-back new episodes:

"Quick Flip or Slow Drip?" (9pm): A competitive couple attempts to power through their first flip in Holmes, PA. The project starts strong as the couple strives to do most of the work themselves and keep costs as low as possible. Unforeseen plumbing issues lead to a near flood in the basement, however, causing the panicked couple to question if they can pull through at all.

"Momma Knows Best" (9:30pm): A college student enlists the help of her mother while flipping a house in Connecticut for money to pay for her tuition. The duo feels optimistic after a strong start attempting most projects themselves to save money. The young student is a little less enthused by the job as their schedule presses on, however, leaving her hard-working mother worried her daughter's social life will distract her from pulling her weight in the project.
