Plot Synopsis

THE FIRST 48: MURDER FOR HIRE features updates on cases from THE FIRST 48, including all-new interviews with the detectives involved with the case. On Monday, June 29, 2015 from 8pm-Midnight ET/PT, A&E premiered four back-to-back episodes, but had no other episodes on its schedule at that time. The updated stories for the night of the series premiere include:

Bad Company: In Las Vegas, NV, Detective Jimmy Vaccaro and his team are called out at midnight to an empty desert highway, where a man's been shot dead in the middle of the road. From the victim's cellphone, they quickly get a lead: just minutes before he was killed, he received a call from a friend with whom he worked at a local strip club. But when they track down the co-worker and bring him to the station, the case takes an outrageous turn that exposes the ruthless underside of business in Vegas.

Dead End Drive / The Fixer: Dallas Detective Dwayne Thompson hunts for a band of carjacking killers that are terrorizing a neighborhood. And in Cleveland, an argument among friends spins out of control when one of them makes a deadly decision.

Graveyard Love: In New Orleans, a man is ambushed in front of his grandmother's house. Detectives Jeffrey Vappie and Tim Bender suspect a woman close to the victim may have arranged the shooting, but they need hard evidence to prove it -- and quickly, before it's too late.

Collateral / Driven to Kill: In Detroit, Sgt. Gary Diaz and Officer Kelly Mullins investigate a triple shooting that left a young mother and her friend dead. The third victim, a critically injured 18-year-old girl, is the only one who can tell them what happened. And in Dallas, a man is intentionally run down and killed by someone in a car. Detective John Palmer tracks down two potential suspects, but must figure out which one was driving.
