Plot Synopsis

FINDING JESUS: FAITH, FACT, FORGERY is a one-hour series that searches for physical traces of Jesus of Nazareth, exploring the evidence of his existence by examining the authenticity and history of sacred relics. Featuring the latest scientific and archaeological research, a panel of contributors provide expert commentary while investigating six objects that could shed new light on Jesus. In the premiere episode, the Shroud of Turin reveals clues that may point all the way back to the Bible. Each subsequent episode features a different relic, including: John the Baptist's finger bone; the gospel of Judas; James, the brother of Jesus; the True Cross; and the gospel of Mary Magdalene. CNN runs this six-episode first season weekly, ending on Easter Sunday (April 5, 2015). Season 2 of FINDING JESUS: FAITH, FACT, FORGERY premiered on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT on CNN. IN the season opener, "The Pilate Stone," the archaeological investigation zeroes in on crucial artifacts that connect to Pontius Pilate -- the inscription on the Stone that proves his existence, as well as the recent discovery of Herod the Great's Jerusalem Palace.
