Plot Synopsis

Shortly after moving into their newly finished dream house, Alice's beloved partner of 20 years, Harry, dies from falling down the stairs. As Alice grieves -- and searches for the fridge in the impractical home Harry designed -- his sudden death kicks up a storm of secrets and suspicion. Family should be a source of comfort, but Harry's parents, Minnie and Gerry, keep popping round uninvited. While Alice's own parents, Roger and Sarah, only seem to add to her list of problems. With Harry gone and Alice struggling to cope, Charlotte is forced to bottle up her grief and be the responsible one. Especially when the police turn up asking questions about the night that Harry died. To make matters worse, more unexpected visitors start knocking on Alice's door, and she begins to realize that Harry's business debt wasn't the only secret he kept hidden from her. FINDING ALICE made its U.S. debut on Monday, September 13, 2021, as Acorn TV released the entire six-episode first season:

"Fall": For Alice, Harry, and their daughter, Charlotte, moving into their dream home quickly becomes a nightmare when Harry is found dead at the bottom of the stairs. Harry designed the smart house, so it's weird and wonderful, and one more disorientation for Alice on top of her grief. Family should be a source of comfort, but they only seem to add to her growing list of problems.

"Funeral": Meeting George leaves Alice shaken. He does look like Harry, but why didn't he show up when Harry was alive? Before Alice can deal with that revelation, first she must arrange a funeral for the man she loved. She and Charlotte decide to bury Harry at home, in their garden. Then Charlotte discovers a letter from a sperm storage clinic addressed to her dad and drops another bombshell on Alice.

"Inquest": Charlotte decides that she's ready to return to school, but Alice feels lost without her and struggles to cope. Before the inquest into Harry's death can go ahead, the police must identify the mysterious figure on the CCTV. With George becoming increasingly evasive, Alice is forced to go behind his back to get the answers she needs.

"Money": Alice is struggling to sleep and growing desperately short of money... then she spots the for-sale sign outside the house. Alice realizes that to stop her home from being sold from under her, she must find a way to make big money fast. While Charlotte gets to know George, Alice attempts to understand Harry's business and uncovers a deed for a plot of land in his name.

"Sperm": lice rejects Tanvi's offer. She wants to develop Harry's land herself, with the support of her family. It's what Harry would have wanted. But Harry's sister, Nicola, overshadows the new project by blurting out that Alice is planning to use the sperm that Harry had stored. Everyone seems relatively supportive-apart from Charlotte, who can't help feeling like she's not enough.

"What Now?": Alice receives planning permission to develop the plot of land. She's determined to keep this new confidence going and looks forward to having Harry's baby. But first she writes a to-do list: make money, save the house, make Charlotte happy, and win Minnie and Gerry over. But when Alice's parents' marriage falls to pieces, Roger moves in with her and Charlotte moves out.

FINDING ALICE has been renewed for a second season.
