Plot Synopsis

Wildlife experts and filmmakers followed young animals growing up in the wild during the month of May, capturing their survival stories on video. Whether these animals are avoiding predators, hunting prey, or learning how to navigate dangerous family environments, each 60-minute episode features a different set of young animals, including: "Bad News Black Bears," which chronicles a group of black bears in Minnesota -- den mother Juliet and her three tiny newborn cubs, Sam, Sophie and Sybil; "Water for Elephants," which documents newborn African elephant Maya at the Samburu National Reserve, whose young mother has no older relatives to guide her because their herd has been hit hard by poachers; "Slum Monkey," which highlights nine-week-old Gremlin, a tiny macaque monkeys with a distinctive white tip to her tail, who lives at the Temple Troop of Toque in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka; and "Lion Pride Takeover," which follows five-month-old Moja and his fierce lioness mother, Nyota, who survive together in the Masai Mara.
