Plot Synopsis

From Dick Wolf and the team behind the LAW & ORDER franchise, FBI is a one-hour procedural drama series about the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This elite unit brings to bear all their talents, intellect and technical expertise on major cases in order to keep New York and the country safe. Born into a multigenerational law enforcement family, Special Agent Maggie Bell commits deeply to the people she works with as well as those she protects. Her partner is Special Agent Omar Adom 'OA' Zidan, a West Point graduate via Bushwick who spent two years undercover for the DEA before being cherry-picked by the FBI. Overseeing them is Special Agent in Charge Dana Mosier, who operates under intense pressure 24/7/365 and has undeniable command authority. The team also includes Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine, the nerve center of the office whose ability to easily relate to and engage with both superiors and subordinates makes him a master motivator. Kristen Chazal is the team's most valued resource, a brilliant analyst recruited straight out of university who can piece together the big picture faster than anyone. These first-class agents tenaciously investigate cases of tremendous magnitude, including terrorism, organized crime and counterintelligence.

The sophomore season of FBI premiered on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT on CBS, with Alana De La Garza joining the cast as Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille. In the season opener, "Little Egypt," after a bomb detonates at a restaurant in Queens, the case becomes personal for OA, who grew up eating there. But what initially seems like a terrorist attack reveals itself to be more complex, and OA goes undercover to prevent another incident. John Boyd guest stars as Stuart Scola, Kristen's partner out in the field. On Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT, CBS debuted "Fallout," the winter premiere of FBI. After a businessman with a history of harassment claims against him is killed, the team suspects it may be one of his many accusers.

Season 3 of FBI premiered on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on CBS. Katherine Renee Turner joins the cast as Special Agent Tiffany Wallace. In the season opener, "Never Trust a Stranger," the team welcomes Walker, as they search for killers who orchestrated a mass shooting at a media company, and OA's personal connection with the case threatens to cloud his judgement. After a seven-week break, FBI returned with new episodes on a special night: Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on CBS, immediately following post-game coverage of the AFC Championship Game. (Time is approximate.) In the winter premiere, "Crazy Love," a shooting at a quinceanera leaves two dead, but the team believes they may not have been the intended targets. Also, Maggie is trapped between a rock and a hard place as the team decides the best plan of action for using a witness to take down the suspect. FBI moved to its regular timeslot -- Tuesdays at 9pm -- two days later on January 26.

FBI returned for its fourth season on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 8pm ET/PT on CBS, as part of a three-episode crossover event with FBI: MOST WANTED (9pm) and FBI: INTERNATIONAL (10pm). In the season premiere, "All That Glitters," after a young woman is killed on her way home from a lavish yacht party, the team investigates who she was and how she came to be at the event, which was attended by some of the most influential people in the world. Also, Maggie brings Crosby (Kellan Lutz, FBI: MOST WANTED) into the investigation after a murder suspect is identified as a veteran who had been on several Army operations with Crosby. On Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT, CBS debuted "Fostered," the winter premiere of FBI. As the team investigates a string of jewelry store robberies that culminate in a double murder, they uncover a connection to a 16-year-old boy trying to survive the foster care system. Also, Tiffany becomes personally invested after learning about the boy's ill-fated upbringing.

Season 5 of FBI premiered on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 8pm ET/PT on CBS. In the season opener, "Hero's Journey," the team pivots when their sting operation to secure a massive bomb from an illegal broker leads them to discover that the device is already in the wrong hands. Also, Jubal's promise to be present at his son's birthday party is put to the test as the case continues to heat up. After a three-week break, FBI returned with new episodes on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT on CBS. In the winter premiere, "Second Life," the abduction of a young woman leads the team back to a cold case from 18 years ago, which pushes Isobel to reconnect with her old partner Jake (guest star Tate Donovan) and take another shot at solving one of her first cases at the Bureau.
