Plot Synopsis

Host Andrew Zimmern visits families across America to explore how the cultural, regional and historical facets of who we are inform what and how we eat, and the family dinner brings people together. On Monday, January 4, 2021 -- the day that discovery+ launched -- the streaming service released the first 24-minute episode of FAMILY DINNER. In this episode, "The Ponce Family," Andrew joins the Ponce family in Queens, NY, for whom family, food, and music are everything. When he joins them for dinner, they hand-roll tortillas, make fresh salsas, and share rib-eye tacos straight off the grill, while enjoying authentic Mariachi music. Five additional episodes dropped on discovery+ on March 12, 2021 before four more episodes debuted on the Magnolia app the day it launched on Thursday, July 15, 2021. A new episode dropped each Friday on the Magnolia app, beginning July 23 through September 24, 2021. FAMILY DINNER made its linear television debut on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 8-9pm ET on Magnolia Network, as the cable channel aired the first two episodes.

FAMILY DINNER returned for its second season, as the Magnolia app released the first two episodes of the new season. In Season 2, Andrew continues to visit families across America to explore how the cultural, regional and historical facets of who we are inform what and how we eat. In the season opener, the Sayegh family prepares their favorite Polish-Ukrainian recipes. Season 2 of FAMILY DINNER made its linear television debut on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at 8pm ET on Magnolia Network.

Season 3 of FAMILY DINNER premiered on Saturday, December 24, 2022 on the Magnolia App. In the season opener, the Adler family welcomes in the Sabbath with their weekly Shabbat dinner.
