Plot Synopsis

Physicist and acclaimed author Brian Greene investigates how scientists are piecing together the most complete picture yet of space, time and the universe, revealing what lies beneath the surface of our everyday experience. Interweaving provocative theories, experiments and stories with crystal-clear explanations and imaginative metaphors, Greene provides a comprehensive picture of modern physics, looking for answers to science's burning questions: Is space just an empty void?; Is our universe the only universe?; Is time travel possible?; and many more. Major funding for THE FABRIC OF THE COSMOS was provided by the National Science Foundation and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the four-part miniseries aired as episodes of NOVA.
