Plot Synopsis

Actress Debi Mazar and her musician husband Gabriele Corcos show viewers how to blend the simple traditions of his Tuscany upbringing with modern life in America as they use organic ingredients to create healthy family meals. The series is shot in the United States and in Italy, allowing Gabriele to share his Italian traditions, where his grandmother and mother taught him everything he knows about Tuscan food and traditional farmer's cuisine. Season 3, which premiered on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 9:30pm ET, begins with Debi, Gabriele and their daughters having just arrived at their home in Italy where they pick apricots off their own trees, which they will grill for an appetizer, and head to a local goat farm to buy two delicious cheeses to go with them. For the rest of the new season, their family takes a road trip to Siena, celebrates the birthday of Fabio (Gabriele's brother), and travel to Florence's Arno River where Debi and Gabriele kissed for the first time 11 years ago. When the family returns to the United States, they head to their new home in Brooklyn, where they recently relocated from Los Angeles. After unpacking, they create a garden in their tiny Brooklyn backyard, take a trip to Arthur Avenue to sample local Italian culture, and celebrate Debi's birthday. EXTRA VIRGIN returned for its fourth season on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 8pm ET/5pm PT on Cooking Channel. In the Season 4 premiere, Debi and Gabriele are determined to do a New York City weekend on the cheap, as raising a family in an expensive city is not easy. They start with a quick recipe of Frittata di Spaghetti, followed by a family bike ride to a local sweet shop and a trip over the Brooklyn Bridge, before heading back home to cook up a deliciously inexpensive meal of Fettuccini Brodo di Pollo and Pork and Cabbage Involtini -- all for less than $15! EXTRA VIRGIN returned for its 13-episode fifth season on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 9pm ET/6pm PT on Cooking Channel. Gabriele and Debi continue to share new adventures with their family and friends in New York, as they create delicious Tuscan-inspired dishes. Of course no experience would be complete without a taste of the simple life as they visit their family in Tuscany. In the season premiere, Debi and Gabriele decide to give back to their neighborhood, who have welcomed them with open arms the last few years. Taking over one of the neighborhood's restaurants for the day, Gabriele and Debi cook up a variety of Tuscan recipes for friends. Since they are cooking for their neighbors, they will also shop in all of their favorite local shops for ingredients for the big feast. Season 5 features guest appearances by designer Zac Posen and Aida Turturro.

On Wedneday, April 8, 2015 at 9pm ET/6pm PT, Cooking Channel premiered the Season 5 finale of EXTRA VIRGIN. In the season ender, "Life on the Farm," it's pretty well established at this point that Gabriele dreams of a life on the farm. While she's more of a city girl at heart, Debi has always supported and encouraged him to pursue his dream. On their property in Italy they have the patch of country land, all they need are the animals. In this episode, Debi and Gabriele will get their farm started by restoring the old chicken coop and going to a local farm to buy some chickens. Then they'll cook up a big farm-inspired feast to celebrate.
