Plot Synopsis

Chef Emeril Lagasse travels throughout Florida, exploring spectacular scenery, visiting must-see sites, and sampling local cuisine with the chefs who created the dishes. In each 30-minute episode, Emeril takes a culinary tour of the Sunshine State, including visits to these locales in Season 1: The Ravenous Pig restaurant in Winter Park, where he and chef/owner James Petrakis prepare a cobia dish; the famous beaches of South Walton in the Florida Panhandle; the "Fish Out of Water" restaurant, where he and executive chef Brian Murray make fresh grouper and corn pudding; Florida's celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Spanish explorers arrival on the east coast; "The Tasting Room," where Chef Michael Lugo prepares him a classic Spanish meal; "Jackson's Steakhouse" in Pensacola, where executive chef Irv Millerh im a variety of dishes; the Kennedy Space Station, where he learns about the NASA Space Program from Colonel Rick Searfoss; the Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida, a working cattle ranch and conservation land; Kissimmee, where he samples signature dishes at the "Old History Steakhouse"; and many more restaurants, museums, and adventures. EMERIL'S FLORIDA returned for its second season on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2:30pm ET/11:30am PT on Cooking Channel. In the Season 2 opener, Emeril visited: Hari and Jenneffer Pulapaka, owners of the Cress Restaurant in DeLand; Chef Jose Martinez, who relocated from Paris to Longboat Key on Florida's Gulf Coast to open Maison Blanche; BT Nguyen, who was evacuated, along with her sister from South Vietnam during the fall of Saigon in the mid-1970s, and is now the owner of Restaurant BT in South Tampa; and Tampa teenager Guillermo Quezada, who was named Top Florida High School Chef in the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association's ProStart 2013 Competition. Season 4 of EMERIL'S FLORIDA premiered on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 2:30pm ET/11:30am PT. In the season opener, "Tampa's Icons," Emeril visits Mise en Place, one of the leading restaurants in Florida, where he tries some of Chef Martyu Blitz's latest creations, including sous vide venison loin and buttermilk panna cotta. Then, Emeril goes to Cigar City Brewing, where he samples some of their signature beers following a brewery tour. Then Emeril visits one of the most respected and popular steakhouses in the world, Bern's Steakhouse. Emeril tours their restaurant and a peak at their wine collection, the largest of any restaurant in the world. To end the episode, Emeril prepares Marinated Flank Steak with Chimichurri Sauce, Grilled Smashed Potatoes and Piperade.

The fifth season of EMERIL'S FLORIDA premiered on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:30pm ET/11:30am PT on Cooking Channel. In the season opener, "Miami Art and Spice," Emeril heads to sunny Miami to visit the world-famous Wynwood Art District and dine at nightlife mogul David Grutman's newest endeavor, Komodo. Then he explores Coconut Grove's hidden gem Peacock Garden, a new restaurant celebrating local history with a new cuisine style that attracts customers from all over the world. Stick around for Emeril cooking the kitchen.
