Plot Synopsis

Historians Dr. Suzannah Lipscomb and Dan Jones tell a heady tale of jealousy, treachery, ambition, and tragedy alongside lavish dramatizations that transport viewers back to the key events that shaped Elizabeth I, portrayed by actress and model Lily Cole in dramatic reconstructions of key moments in her life. The three-part docudrama opens with the turbulent early years of Elizabeth I's life -- from age three when her mother was executed and she was declared illegitimate and banished from court to the start of her reign.
