Plot Synopsis

Narrated by Helena Bonham Carter, EDEN: UNTAMED PLANET is a six-episode natural history series that travels to the far corners of the planet to reveal the secrets of Earth's few remaining untouched lands, all flourishing with rich biodiversity. Isolated from the rest of the world, life here exists as nature truly intended. While the remoteness of these Eden's has protected them from the most damaging effects of human interference, the series will also reflect on the survival of these rare, precious and unique environments amid the perils of the modern world.

The series opener, "Borneo: Sacred Forest," centers on Borneo, the richest rainforest island of all, which is home to 40,000 species of plants and animals -- with 6,000 of them unique -- and more are discovered almost daily.

New episodes debut at 8pm ET/PT each Saturday from July 24 through August 28, 2021 on BBC American, followed by a "Making Of" special on September 4.
