Plot Synopsis

Eddie Griffin is one of the hardest working men in comedy because he supports eight children, five exes and an entourage of family and friends. But no matter how hard he works, Eddie still struggles to make ends meet -- he has a heart of gold and just can't say "No!" to others. That's where his mother Doris helps out. She's worried about his money, his health, his drinking and his smoking; so she moves in to set him straight. "Going for Broke" also introduces viewers to: 70-year-old Uncle Curtis, who is an amateur porn star, looking to turn pro; Eddie Junior an aspiring singer; and JC, the ex-NFL pro turned boxer.
