Plot Synopsis

Kenny Powers used to be a star pitcher, but his self-destructive behavior knocked him out of major league baseball. In Season 1, he was back home in North Carolina, where he taught Phys Ed at the middle school he once attended. He missed baseball so much that he played in the Mexican League, where he made new enemies, reconnected with his deadbeat dad, and smuggled Stevie's Mexican girlfriend back into the United States. And in Season 3, he somehow resurrected his baseball career as a closer for the Myrtle Beach Merman, a minor league baseball team, where he came to terms with growing older and accepting responsibilities of being a new father -- while still being one of the guys with his new kindred spirit, veteran catcher Shane, and being a mentor to an up-and-coming Russian pitcher, Ivan Dochenko. But when Kenny finally made it back to the show, he faked his own death and ran back home to April.

Season 4, the show's final season, premiered on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT on HBO. The fourth season opened several years after Kenny returned to North Carolina, where he married April and was living a stereotypical suburban lifestyle in a dead-end job as a father of two. Now, he ponders a career move after partying with Guy Young, a former teammate and current host of a raucous TV talk show, as Kenny looks to reclaim the spoils of celebrity and tries to convince Stevie to rejoin the Powers team. Guest stars on the fourth season include Tim Heidecker, Marilyn Manson and Lindsay Lohan.
