Plot Synopsis

Using groundbreaking CGI technology, all-new photography, and insights from top marine archaeologists, DRAIN THE OCEANS is a one-hour docuseries that delivers new insights into the epic history of human civilization and the deep-sea world, exposing sunken cities, shipwrecks, and amazing natural wonders of the deep. In the season opener, "Villains of the Underworld," pirates, gangsters and other villains have been swallowed up by the sea, and now cutting-edge technology reveals the secrets of the sea floor and exposes the shaky ground on which humans live. Then, the second episode, "Nazi Secrets," the hidden secrets of the Nazis are revealed when the oceans covering them are drained using CGI animation.

Season 3 of DRAIN THE OCEANS premiered on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 from 9-11pm ET/PT, as National Geographic Channel premiered back-to-back new episodes: "Drain the Oceans" (9pm): A high-tech survey reveals the dark secrets of U.S. nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll; "The Viking Seas" (10pm): After vanishing in the Baltic over 450 years ago, a formidable battleship reveals secrets.
