Plot Synopsis

Based on Toshinao Aoki's graphic novel of the same name, DRAGON PILOT: HISONE & MASOTAN is a half-hour anime series that centers on Air Self-Defense Force rookie Hisone Amakasu, who is chosen by a dragon concealed within Gifu Air Base to be his pilot. The series opens with Hisone enlisting in the Air Self-Defense Force, where an encounter with a dragon concealed inside a hangar alters her career path forever. After her successful test run flying the dragon, Hisone is asked by flight suit developer Hiroki Ikushima to review prototype suits. Promoted to technical sergeant, Hisone undergoes fighter pilot training with the F-15J unit. The Gifu Air Base prepares for its annual air show. Joined by pilots and their dragons from other military bases, Hisone participates in a joint training exercise held at the Gifu Air Base. DRAGON PILOT: HISONE & MASOTAN had its U.S. premiere on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 3:01am ET/12:01am PT, as Netflix released the entire 12-episode first season.
