Plot Synopsis

DESTINATION SHOWDOWN pits two travel destinations against each other in three categories -- food, lodging and entertainment -- as Travel Channel hosts, travel experts, and local travelers provide commentary and insight. Each 30-minute episode features a single showdown, including: Boston vs. DC, a colonial clash between America's capital, Washington, DC, and one of its oldest cities, Boston, MA; Chicago vs. Toronto, an international showdown for the title of North America's Best Lakeside City, pitting the United States' Chicago against Canada's Toronto; Greece vs. Spain, a smackdown to find the Best Mediterranean Island, with the Greek island of Mykonos squaring off against Ibiza, Spain; The Dells Waterpark vs. Cedar Point, a showdown to find America's best theme park; NY vs. LA, a battle for America's best big city; Rome vs. London, a fight for best international big city; Hawaii vs. Jamaica, a skirmish to find the best island getaway; Miami vs. Cancun, a battalla for best Latino destination city; and many more smackdowns. Originally scheduled to premiere on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 7pm ET, Travel Channel made a last-minute schedule change, delaying DESTINATION SHOWDOWN's debut by one week.
