Plot Synopsis

Using first-person interviews and dramatic re-creations, DEMONS IN THE CITY OF ANGELS presents the tragic crimes that darkened the streets of Los Angeles, revealing the cold-blooded killers, brutal murders and shocking crime scenes that lurk beneath the glitz and glamour of the City of Angels. Each one-hour episode features a different story, including those of: Ken McDavid, a struggling screenwriter living on the streets of Los Angeles, who dies suddenly after a hit-and-run accident, leaving behind a million dollar life insurance policy with two grannies who become suspects in his death; successful Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen, who was fatally shot in Beverly Hills while driving home from a movie premiere; aspiring movie actress Kristi Johnson, who was murdered and her body discarded in the Hollywood Hills on her way to audition for what she hoped was the next Bond girl; Laurence Austin, the owner of the Silent Movie Theater, who was shot and killed in a crime that seemingly looked like a robbery gone wrong; retired couple Tom and Jackie Hawks, who were trying to sell their 55-foot yacht but were killed by a potential buyer, Skylar Deleon, who was an actor with a string of successes but turned to a life of crime; BARETTA star Robert Blake's wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, who was gunned down while sitting in Blake's parked car outside their favorite Italian restaurant; 91-year-old screenwriter Robert Lees, who was brutally murdered and decapitated inside his Hollywood home, with the investigation ending with a dramatic takedown on the front steps of Paramount Studios; and drug dealer Jesse James Hollywood, who sends a message by abducting his indebted customer's 15-year-old brother, Nicholas Markowitz.
