Plot Synopsis

Host Bobby Deen travels across America, as he visits homes to remake traditional family meals using his culinary bag of tricks to cut calories and fat while keeping all the flavor. Growing up surrounded by delectable Southern fare, Bobby learned how delicious -- and rich -- family favorites can be. But then he discovered that he could recreate his family's favorite Southern classics with simple swaps that take the guilt out of guilty pleasures. In each 30-minute episode, Bobby remakes one dish, including the pilot, where he and his friend, Kardea, re-invent gooey Southern Mac n' Cheese. Cooking Channel aired the pilot episode of DEEN OF LEAN on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 9:30pm ET/PT, but the cable channel had no additional episodes on its schedule at that time. According to a press release on April 1, 2014, Scripps Networks announced that this series, then known as the BOBBY DEAN PROJECT, was scheduled to officially premiere in January 2015.
