Plot Synopsis

Based on Whole Foods online magazine of the same name, DARK RYE is a weekly half-hour TV series that highlights stories about food, health, sustainability, design, technology and social enterprise. Each 30-minute episode features three or four segments, including: an urban expedition for the monkey-faced eel; the art of death-row prisoners' last meals; yogi and actor Kumar Pallana; foraging acorn muffins in Portland; a blind man who roasts a mean coffee; Malaysian street food in San Francisco; a master wine sommelier; entrepreneurs rebuilding Detroit; and many more inspiring stories. Kirk Lombard, host of the "Dark Rye" online series THE CURIOUS ADVENTURES OF KIRK LOMBARD, hosted the series premiere.
