Plot Synopsis

Using dramatizations with fictional names to protect his clients' identities, CRY WOLFE is a half-hour series that follows private investigator Brian Wolfe and his investigative assistant, Janine McCarthy, as they expose cheating spouses, dishonest employees, con artists, and scammers to deliver answers to their clients. Cameras follow Wolfe and McCarthy from the initial consultation to the inevitable confrontation as they gather irrefutable evidence against their target -- with Wolfe conducting the field work, letting viewers in on his arsenal of P.I. tricks, and McCarthy tracking the internet breadcrumbs. Each half-hour episode features one story that's been inspired by true accounts from his actual case files, including: Brittany, who suspects her husband, Todd, is cheating with her best friend, Francesca, leading Wolfe to make an unexpected discovery; Sarah, who suspects her husband, Brent, is sleeping with the receptionist at the real-estate office they used to buy their first home; and many more cases that require Wolfe to investigate, perform surveillance, and provide evidence to his clients. Season 3 of CRY WOLFE premiered on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 10-11pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery with back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (10pm), "Oh Sister Where Art Thou," Wolfe and McCarthy are hired by Russ, a young man trying to track down his estranged sister, Erin, after their mother is diagnosed with cancer. Flying halfway across the country with limited information about the missing woman, Wolfe digs deeply into Erin's past and is shocked to discover that she isn't missing -- she's hiding. When Wolfe learns Erin filed a restraining order against an abusive ex-boyfriend right before she disappeared, Wolfe and McCarthy know it is a race against time to bring her home to her mother safely. Then, in the night's second new episode (10:30pm), "Rules of Engagement," Wolfe is hired by Alicia to help get to the bottom of her fiance's distant behavior. When Alicia first met hard-working military man Rob at a karaoke bar, it was love at first site. But as he spent less time with her at home and their wedding date was continually pushed back, Alicia began to question Rob's motives. Alicia finally hires Wolfe after finding a receipt for a necklace she never received, and as he researches Rob's military past, a flood of secrets pour out until one final shocking deception changes lives forever.
