Plot Synopsis

This four-part drama explores what really goes on in the corridors of power, as thirtysomething Charlotte Ekeblad accepts the post of Minister of Environment in the Social Democrat government of Sweden. Charlotte is married with two kids and has just given up a successful career working for the environment to move to Africa where her husband has been stationed. But she gets a phone call from the Prime Minister's secretary, who offers her the job as Minister for the Environment. When she accepts the challenge of working in politics, typically dominated by men, she has to adjust to new challenges both on the job and at home, where her husband adjusts to his changing role. MHz Worldview presented the US premiere of THE CROWN on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 10pm ET/PT, as part of its presentation of the trilogy THOSE IN POWER, which includes THE CROWN, THE REGICIDE and THE SACRIFICE.
