Plot Synopsis

Relating the untold stories of WWI's frontline medics, THE CRIMSON FIELD is a one-hour drama series that follows the lives of volunteer nurses Kitty Trevelyan and Sister Joan Livesey, as a tented field hospital on the coast of France becomes a frontier between the battlefield and the home front for a team of doctors, nurses and women volunteers working together to heal the bodies and souls of men wounded in the trenches. The hospital evolves into a social battleground as well -- the old rules, hierarchies and class distinctions against a new way of thinking. PBS aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 10pm (check local listings).
