Plot Synopsis

Scott Aukerman hosts this variety program, which includes elements of a celebrity talk show and a sketch-comedy series. Accompanied by his one-man band leader, Reggie Watts, Aukerman sits down with the biggest names in comedy for "unfiltered and improvisational lines of questioning." Plus, Aukerman presents sketches, character cameos, filmic shorts and games. After airing a 15-minute extended sneak peek on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10:30pm ET, IFC premiered this half-hour series on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 10pm ET. Season 1 guests included: Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler, Jon Hamm, Michael Cera, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Ed Helms, Elizabeth Banks, Adam Scott and Weird Al Yankovic. Other Season 4 guests include Maya Rudolph, Mark Duplass, Nick Kroll, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Jack McBrayer, David Alan Grier, Maria Bamford, and more. IFC debuted the Season 4 summer premiere of COMEDY BANG! BANG! on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 10:30pm ET/PT, featuring new band leader Kid Cudi. Plus, Michael Cera shows off his business cards, and August Lindt (played by Andy Daly) shares his recommendations for vacation destinations. On Friday, June 3, 2016 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, IFC premiered the fifth season of COMEDY BANG! BANG!, with the legendary "Weird Al" Yankovic joining the show as the new bandleader and co-host. To kick off Season 5, Scott and "Weird Al" are joined by Kevin Bacon at 11pm and The Lonely Island (Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, Akiva Schaffer) at 11:30pm. Other celebrity guests in the fifth season include: Kaley Cuoco, Tony Hale, Joe Jonas, Aubrey Plaza, Kristen Schaal, T- Pain, and more. On Friday, October 28, 2016 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, IFC debuted the mid-season premiere of the final season of COMEDY BANG! BANG!. In the night's first new episode (11pm), "Kaley Cuoco Wears a Black Blazer and Slip on Sneakers," the crew is visited by some American heroes; Kaley Cuoco finalizes her will; lifestyle Coach Karen. Then, in the second new episode (11:30pm), "Gillian Jacobs Wears a Gray Checkered Suit and a Red Bow Tie," the studio is being haunted by a ghoulish spirit; Gillian Jacobs gets a free cocktail. The remaining episodes air weekly, back-to-back on Fridays (except for Thanksgiving weekend), with the series finale scheduled for December 10. Other guest stars in the final episodes include: Malin Akerman, Mike Colter, singer-songwriter Ben Folds, Allison Janney, Jason Mantzoukas, Haley Joel Osment, Chris Parnell, Krysten Ritter, Adam Scott, Paul F. IFC premiered the series finale of COMEDY BANG! BANG! on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 11pm-Midnight ET/PT, showing back-to-back new episodes. In the night's first new episode (11pm), "Reggie Watts Wears a Purple and Yellow Quilted Sweatshirt," Reggie Watts tries to prevent a disaster, Weird Al has a surprising announcement, and Adam Scott makes a guest appearance. Then, in the series ender (11:30pm), "Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber Wears A Purple Top Hat & Fabrice Fabrice Wears One Pink Fur Leg Warmer," Scott receives some disturbing news; meanwhile, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Fabrice Fabrice stop by.
