Plot Synopsis

COLLISION COURSE is a one-hour documentary series that unravels the speculation surrounding car and airplane crashes involving celebrities relying on footage from the scene, police records, CGI re-enactments and interviews with eyewitnesses to provide a detailed look at the most provoking and controversial elements that put these celebrities on a collision course. ReelzChannel first aired COLLISION COURSE on February 20, 2016 at 10pm ET/7pm PT, with a program focused on Caitlyn Jenner. This one-hour special examined the multi-car accident involving Caitlyn Jenner (known as Bruce Jenner at the time of the crash) that resulted in the death of 69-year-old Kim Howe. Swirling around the incident were claims that Jenner was driving distracted as well as questions about whether paparazzi pursued him so aggressively they played a role the crash. Thirteen months later, COLLISION COURSE had its official series premiere on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 9pm ET/6pm PT with an episode that centered on Paul Walker's shocking death. In 2013, Walker is killed while riding as a passenger in a high-performance car driven by friend and professional racecar driver Roger Rodas who lost control of the car on a quiet industrial street in Valencia, California. What exactly caused the accident remains a mystery but COLLISION COURSE takes viewers into that seemingly inexplicable tragedy and reveal new evidence that was overlooked in the official police report. Other celebrities featured in the show's first season include Justin Bieber, John Denver, John F. Kennedy Jr., and Tracy Morgan.

Season 2 of COLLISION COURSE premiered on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 10pm ET/7pm PT on ReelzChannel. They're the crashes heard around the world. Whether it's Justin Bieber wreaking high-speed havoc in Beverly Hills or the devastating crash that severely injured Tracy Morgan and took the life of his friend - neither fame or fortune exempt you from fate. New episodes kick off with a harrowing story of Gloria Estefan's tour bus crash while others examine the Titanic sinking, the daredevil life of motorcycle stunt legend Evel Knievel, the heartbreaking fatal crash of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. and the remarkable story of the airline crash dubbed the "Miracle on the Hudson" after pilots landed their plane on the Hudson River - a feat that was depicted in the Tom Hanks movie Sully. The season opener focuses on Gloria Estefan. On March 20, 1990, a tour bus carrying Gloria Estefan, the singer star of the Miami Sound Machine, and her husband, son and two of her crew, was travelling through Pennsylvania's snowy Poconos when a tractor-trailer had just jack-knifed across the icy road in front of Estefan's bus. Her driver Ron Jones stopped in time to avoid collision but another 18-wheel truck slammed into them from behind once he had stopped. Gloria was thrown to the floor of the bus, her spine shattered. What caused the horrific crash and how did she manage to not only survive, but to get back on her feet?
