Plot Synopsis

Each year since 2010, country music stars perform holiday songs and share their favorite traditions and memories on CMA COUNTRY CHRISTMAS. The inaugural event, hosted by Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and broadcast by ABC as a 90-minute special, was taped after the 44th Annual CMA AWARDS on November 10, 2010 at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN, and featured performances by Sheryl Crow, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Reba, LeAnn Rimes, Darius Rucker, Sugarland and Kellie Pickler. Bridgestone Arena in Nashville has continued to host the event, but the program is now taped on a different day than the CMA AWARDS.

On Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 8-9pm ET/PT, ABC premiered the 14th Annual CMA COUNTRY CHRISTMAS. Hosted by Amy Grant and Trisha Yearwood, this one-hour holiday special taps into the nostalgia and magic of the holiday season. Filmed in Nashville in front of a live audience, the holiday special showcases one-of-a-kind musical performances of festive classics from Country Music's biggest stars. Yearwood and Grant perform "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" and are accompanied by Lindsey Stirling for "Joy to the World." Grant also takes the stage to perform "Grown Up Christmas List," and Yearwood performs "O Holy Night" with Stirling. In addition to the night's hosts, the lineup includes Jordan Davis ("O Come All Ye Faithful"), Lady A ("What Christmas Means to Me"), Ashley McBryde with Stirling ("You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch"), Jon Pardi ("Beer for Santa"), The War And Treaty ("Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)"), and Zach Williams with Lainey Wilson ("Go Tell It on the Mountain").
