Plot Synopsis

Host Chuck Hughes takes a tour of America's most famous streets, by learning about, preparing, and eating the awesome food at each locale. Each 30-minute episode highlights a single city, including these locales in Season 1: Philadelphia's Walnut Street, where Chuck discovers hearty fare like scrapple at Square Peg, classic and veggie meatballs at Marabella Meatball Co., Middle Eastern cuisine at Zahav, cheesesteak Asian-style at Sampan, and a gelato at Capogiro Gelato; New Orleans' Magazine Street, where Chuck sings about crawfish pie straight from the bayou, Creole roux at Ignatius, Breaux Mart grocery store, paneed Mississippi Rabbit sandwich at La Petite Grocery, and taffy in the back of a Roman Candy Company's roadside attraction; Memphis' Beale Street, where Chuck enjoys peanut butter and banana pancakes cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven at Rock-n-Dough, a nutty treat that's been popular since 1929 at The Nut Shoppe, soulful barbeque with a Memphis pitmaster at Rendevous Rib Shipping, a rustic chess pie at Grawemeyer's Deli, and fried catfish with the Queen of Southern cuisine at Felicia Suzanne; Portland Maine's Commercial Street, where Chuck tastes a delicate Pollock stew at Farmer's Table, the best sticky buns outside Paris at Standard Baking, a smoked lamb inspired by Italy at Vignola Cinque Terre, and fresh, steamed lobster that he catches himself at Three Sons Lobster & Fish; and San Francisco's Mission District, where Chuck samples gi-normous burritos from local expert Jaime Maldonado, decadent pork belly donuts at favorite hang-out The Sycamore, pan-seared halibut and avant garde film at Foreign Cinema with chef Kevin Davidson, and Chicken Fried Soul sandwiches at Jason Fordley's late-night, pop-up kitchen, Soul Groove. Season 2, which premiered on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 10pm ET, featured these cities: Aspen, Colorado; Dallas, TX; San Juan, Puerto Rico; San Antonio, TX; Santa Fe, NM; Charleston, SC; Washington D.C.; and Bronx, NY.
