Plot Synopsis

In this one-hour docuseries executive produced by Anthony Bourdain, renowned journalist Christiane Amanpour traveled around the world -- from Asia to Africa and from Europe to the Middle East -- to meet everyday individuals who are shaping the idea of modern love. Whether single and dating in Accra, married and sexless in Tokyo, inspired by ancient erotica in Beirut, or transgender in Shanghai -- women and men are all pushing the boundaries on sexual satisfaction, consent, and connection. In the series opener, Amanpour seeks insight into what the women of Tokyo, Japan, search for in terms of sexual satisfaction and intimacy, including a visit a visit to a Japanese host club, where women looking for male company can find a unique offering.

"Shanghai" (10pm): Christiane returns to Shanghai, China to explore how the societal constraints of tradition, family, and state influence sexual relationships and personal identity in one of the most rapidly evolving cities on the planet.

"Accra" (11pm): Christiane heads to Accra where faith colors every aspect of sex and relationships; how Ghanaian women are reclaiming their own sexual and personal space.
