Plot Synopsis

CHICAGO FIRE is an action series that follows the men and women of Chicago Firehouse 51, where firefighters, rescue squads, and paramedics respond to the city's most dangerous fires and rescue operations. These courageous men and women forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way, but the enormous responsibilities of the job also take a personal toll. When a tragedy claims one of their own, there's plenty of guilt and blame to go around, and Lt. Matthew Casey and Lt. Kelly Severide each blames the other for their fallen team member. Even though Casey and Severide butt heads, they put their differences aside and put everything on the line for each other -- and the rest of the crew -- as soon as it's "go time." Chicago Firehouse 51 includes: Squad Lieutenant Kelly Severide, an adrenaline-junkie who's the leader of the elite firefighters; Matthew Casey, a natural leader who is in his element when on a rescue or putting out a fire but is grappling with a recent separation from his wife, Hallie; Battalion Chief Wallace Boden, the captain of the squad; Peter Mills, a young candidate firefighter fresh from the Academy; Christopher Hermann, who loses his home due to foreclosure and is forced to move in with his in-laws; Gabriella Dawson, a fast-thinking and fearless paramedic committed to her job; Leslie Shay, a fearless EMT and prankster who's always in on the joke and the life of the party; and more.

CHICAGO FIRE returned on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT on NBC with a Season 2 opener that featured Lt. Severide being targeted as an arsonist and Gail McLeod clashing with Battalion Chief Boden, as she keeps a sharp eye on budgets and performance at the city's firehouses -- and has 51 under her microscope as one that could face the prospect of being closed. Plus, Lt. Casey reflected on the one-year anniversary of Andy's death, and Shay has suspicions about Severide's paternity.

Season 3 of CHICAGO FIRE premiered on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT on NBC. In the season opener, "Always," Boden forces members of Firehouse 51 to pull themselves back together in the aftermath of the harrowing fire explosion in the Season 2 finale. When Severide goes missing for one week too many, Casey works to track down his whereabouts. Meanwhile, Newhouse brings some unexpected news regarding one of Mills' relatives while Herrmann and Otis make some new goals regarding Molly's Pub.

The fourth season of CHICAGO FIRE premiered on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT on NBC. In the season opener, "Let It Burn," Lt. Casey, who is at the center of an undercover operation to bring down a trafficking ring run out of Nesbitt's strip club, finds himself in very dangerous territory. Meanwhile, as a result of the high turnover rate on squad, Severide gets a rude awakening when Capt. Dallas Patterson is brought in, much to Boden's dismay. Dawson confirms her suspicions that her life is about to change forever and Jimmy Borrelli, the new candidate, makes an unusual first impression. Elsewhere, citizens of Chicago band together to take charge of their neighborhood in protest of a drug den in their area, resulting in ramifications that severely hinder members of Firehouse 51, who are called to the scene to battle a blazing fire.

Season 5 of CHICAGO FIRE premiered on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on NBC. In the season opener, "The Hose or the Animal," Severide and Stella are on the lookout for a very unstable Grant, who left Chicago Med without notice. Now that Dawson is responsible for Louie, she questions her dangerous career path as a firefighter. Casey continues his work as Alderman but his relationship with his political consultant, Susan Weller, cools. Problems continue for Borrelli, who still blames Chief Boden for the death of his brother, and the situation reaches a boiling point. Meanwhile, Mouch and Brett start off on a new venture together.

The sixth season of CHICAGO FIRE premiered on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10pm ET/PT on NBC. In the season opener, "It Wasn't Enough," with most of the squad still trapped inside the burning warehouse fire, Chief Boden makes a risky last-minute decision in an effort to save his men. Dawson continues to deal with her father (guest star Daniel Zacapa), who has new plans for himself. Brett's childhood friend Hope (guest star Eloise Mumford) visits the Windy City and strikes the attention of someone within the firehouse, while Kidd goes head-to-head with her landlord. Meanwhile, a fire at a high school hits close to home for Boden.

Season 7 of CHICAGO FIRE premiered on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on NBC.
