Plot Synopsis

In each 60-minute episode, out-of-work chefs compete against each other in a series of culinary challenges over a two- to three-day period, with the winning chef earning the title of Executive Chef at a high-end restaurant. Host Carrie McCully, a consultant who specializes in recruiting and placing culinary professionals, works with the restaurant owner or general manager to evaluate hundreds of applicants, select three qualified candidates, evalute appetizers from these three prospective chefs, and challenge the abilities of two chefs to create a menu, run a restaurant and work with the staff for a single evening. Finally, Carrie and the general manager evaluate the finalists' overall technical and creative performance, with one chef becoming Executive Chef at the exclusive restaurant. Carrie, a principal of Force of Nature Media, found her niche 15 years ago in New York City when friends who owned restaurants and clubs began asking for advice about servers' uniforms, designs, menus, marketing and help with finding talented new chefs from her vast network of connections. Food Network aired a sneak peek episode of this series on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 10pm ET, just four days before the official series premiere.
