Plot Synopsis

CHAD is a half-hour, single-camera comedy series that follows Chad, a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy played by Nasim Pedrad, as he navigates his first year of high school on a mission to become popular. Chad's friendships and sanity are pushed to the limits as he uses every tactic at his disposal to befriend the cool kids, while enduring his mother's new dating life and reconciling with his cultural identity. Pedrad is also creator, writer, executive producer and showrunner. TBS aired a series sneak peek early Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 12:30am (late night Saturday, March 27).

On Monday, April 4, 2022 at approximately 11:30pm ET/8:30pm PT (immediately following the Men's Final Four Championship Game), TNT and truTV debuted a half-hour sneak peek of the second season of CHAD. TBS aired the same sneak peek an hour later at 12:30am ET/9:30pm PT, following the Men's Final Four Championship Postgame. Season 2 of CHAD was scheduled to premiere on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on TBS, but the program was pulled from the schedule shortly after the season preview aired.

Season 2 of CHAD finally debuted on Friday, January 19, 2024 on Roku, which released all 10 episodes of the new season. Summer break is over and it's sophomore year for newly elected class president, Chad Amani. In the second season, Chad deals with a scandal that quickly ends his presidency, has a surprising new love interest, and gets a visit from his tough-as-nails Iranian grandmother -- all while continuing to worry about his popularity, and discovering new ways to relate to his Persian cultural roots. Chad's epic path to teenage self-realization is not always a straight line -- but the support from his family and best friend Peter keep Chad on track, giving him the confidence to help him become who he has always wanted to be -- the most American boy in the history of the world. Returning cast for the second season includes Jake Ryan as Peter; Paul Chahidi as Uncle Hamid; Saba Homayoon as Naz, Chad's mother; Ella Mika as Chad's sister, Niki; Alexa Loo as Denise; and Thomas Barbusca as Reid. New cast member Sara Malal Rowe portrays Mona, a new student from France who's also Persian.
