Plot Synopsis

With the help of Drew and Jonathan Scott, Hollywood A-listers express their deep gratitude to the individuals who have had a major impact on their lives by surprising them with big, heartwarming home renovations that bring everyone to tears. Celebrity guests in Season 1 include: actor, producer and two-time Academy Awards winner Brad Pitt; multi Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winning actress, producer, fashion designer and flea market enthusiast Melissa McCarthy; OSCAR, Emmy Award and Tony Awards winner Viola Davis; singer, songwriter and producer Michael Buble; actress, writer, producer and fashion designer Rebel Wilson; and actor Jeremy Renner. In the series opener, "Brad Pitt's Gifting a Backyard Pad," Brad Pitt recruits Drew and Jonathan Scott to help him surprise his friend and makeup artist of 30 years by renovating her detached garage. They turn her 400-square-foot unit into a showstopping guest suite, makeup station and storage area.

The sophomore season of CELEBRITY IOU premiered on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV. The first four episodes capture all the feels as HGTV's famous twins, real estate and renovation experts Drew and Jonathan Scott, help the award-winning stars with the surprise home overhauls. The featured celebrities include: Zooey Deschanel, Justin Hartley, Allison Janney, and Rainn Wilson. "CELEBRITY IOU is so full of heart and just the kind of feel-good energy we all need right now," said Jonathan. "The idea of giving back resonates with everyone -- and, for us, working with these incredibly thoughtful celebrities is so uplifting." "Our passion is sharing the gift of home with others and we love being a part of these stories of pure gratitude," added Drew. "In Season 1, we were blown away by how hands-on each celebrity was and Season 2 is no different! Everyone is so dedicated because they're doing this for people they love." After a 5.5-month break, CELEBRITY IOU returned with new episodes on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV. In the mid-season premiere, "Kris Jenner's Backyard Retreat Surprise," Kris Jenner and daughters Kim Kardashian West and Kendall Jenner team up with Jonathan and Drew to surprise a family friend looking to start over. With the brothers' help, Kris, Kim and Kendall transform her backyard wasteland into a stunning oasis. A new episode debuts each Monday thereafter, including "LeAnn Rimes' Lifesaving Thank You" (June 28) and "Kevin Hart's Heartfelt Thanks" (July 5).

Season 3 of CELEBRITY IOU debuted on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT on HGTV. Drew and Jonathan Scott continue to help Hollywood A-listers, who want to give extraordinary people in their lives surprise home renovations. This season's celebrity lineup includes: "Tiffany Haddish Returns the Love" (April 18, 2022); "Howie Mandel's Sensational Surprise" (April 25, 2022); "Snoop Dogg's Winning Gift" (May 2, 2022); "Ali Wong's Renovation Surprise for a Dear Friend" (May 9, 2022); "Lisa Kudrow's Stunning Condo Surprise" (May 16, 2022); "John C. Reilly's Funky Cabin Makeover" (May 23, 2022); "Anthony Anderson's Ultimate Thank You" (May 30, 2022); "Halle Berry's Beautiful Gift for Cherished Teacher" (June 6, 2022). On Monday, November 14, 2022 at 9pm ET/PT, CELEBRITY IOU returned with new episodes after a five-month break. In the mid-season premiere, "Leslie Jordan's Life-Changing Renovation," Emmy winner and funny man Leslie Jordan calls on Jonathan and Drew to gift his long-time friends of 40 years with a life-changing renovation. Remaining true to their Southwestern style, Leslie delivers a modern refresh to their beloved and cherished home. Additional celebrities appearing in Season 3 include: Idina Menzel (November 21); Terry Crews (November 28); Kate Hudson (December 5); Cindy Crawford (December 12); Cheryl Hines (December 19); Wilmer Valderrama (December 26); and Drew Barrymore (January 2). On Monday, May 15, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT on HGTV, CELEBRITY IOU returned with new episodes after a 4.5-month break. In the first new episode, "Heidi Klum's Legacy Remodel," supermodel sensation Heidi Klum teams up with Jonathan and Drew to surprise her housekeeper of 17 years with a complete house transformation. Heidi pulls out all the stops to deliver a luxurious home where the family can build a lifetime of memories. Additional new celebrity guests include: Kristin Chenoweth (May 22); Glenn Close (May 29); Kristin Davis (June 5); Jay Leno (June 12); Derek & Julianne Hough (June 19); Taraji P. Henson (June 26); and Emma Roberts (July 3).

The fourth season of CELEBRITY IOU debuted with back-to-back episodes on Monday, January 1, 2024 from 8-10pm ET/PT on HGTV. Hollywood A-listers continue to put into action their deep thanks for special friends and mentors by surprising them with stunning home renovations alongside HGTV superstars and series' executive producers Drew and Jonathan Scott. The celebrities' personal stories of gratitude will inspire them to demo through walls and floors, make customized design decisions and ultimately dream big to deliver spectacular home overhauls for the extraordinary people in their lives. The celebrity lineup for the new season includes: Ray Romano (Jan 1), Anna Faris (Jan 1), Regina Hall (Jan 8), Fran Drescher (Jan 15), Mayim Bialik, Sterling K. On Monday, February 12, 2024 at 8pm ET/PT, HGTV premiered "Sterling K. Brown's Family Affair," the Season 4 finale of CELEBRITY IOU. Sterling K. Brown is giving back to the woman he considers family and who has cared for HIS family for the last six years. She has purchased her first home, and Sterling wants Jonathan and Drew's help to surprise her with the home of her dreams.
