Plot Synopsis

CASEY ANTHONY: AN AMERICA MURDER MYSTERY is a three-part documentary that re-examines the key players, puzzling actions and questionable motives behind the murder of Caylee Anthony, shedding new light on this tragic crime and shocking verdict. On July 15, 2008, Orlando police dispatchers receive a bizarre and stunning 9-1-1 call. The caller, Cindy Anthony, is frantic - her granddaughter has been missing for more than one month. Desperate to locate two-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony, police begin an intense investigation... but authorities cannot overlook a key player in the case, Caylee's own 22-year-old mother, Casey. Exclusive interviewees featured in this three-part series include Caylee's grandparents, Cindy and George Anthony, offering a unique look into the inner-working of the Anthony family and how the trial of Casey still haunts them today; also featured are Clint House, a former close friend and confidant of Casey's; Belvin Perry, Jr., the judge who presided over Casey's trial; Russ Huekler, an alternate juror who, among the other jurors, faced public scrutiny for the jury's decision to acquit Casey; and Kevin Beary, the former Orange County Sheriff who first investigated the case. Other individuals interviewed in the three-part special include Brad Conway, former attorney for George and Cindy Anthony; Jane Velez-Mitchell and Diane Dimond, both crime reporters and TV journalists who covered the trial from the ground; and other key investigators and legal experts who worked closely to the case. Investigation premiered this three-part special at 10pm on consecutive nights: Sunday, April 9 through Tuesday, April 11, 2017.
