Plot Synopsis

Anthony Anderson visits the most popular carnivals in the United States, participating in everything from bubble gum blowing contests to lumberjack competitions, and tasting the signature snacks that make these carnivals a foodie delight. From mac-and-cheese stuffed burgers to bacon-wrapped roasted corn, Anthony finds dishes that satisfy everyone's carnival craving. In each 30-minute episode, Anthony travels to a different American fair, including: the Got to Be NC Festival in Raleigh, NC, where he tickles his taste buds with everything from redneck egg rolls to the most intense bacon-wrapped deep-fried dessert this side of the Mississippi; the country fair in Sacramento, CA, where he samples a burger with a cheese skirt and a bacon-topped cinnamon roll sundae; Parker Days in Parker, CO, where he finds massive 24-pound beef ribs and a deep-fried root beer float; the Prairie Fest in Oswego, IL, where he tastes bacon-wrapped roasted corn and a Chicago crab dog; the San Diego County Fair, where he samples Thai chicken fry bread and a chile relleno cheeseburger; and the Alameda County Fair, where he chows down on a mac-and-cheese stuffed burger and a lobster dog.
On Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT, Food Network premiered the season finale of CARNIVAL CRAVINGS WITH ANTHONY ANDERSON. In the season ender, "Lobster Dogs and So-Cal Sundaes," Anthony meets up with 500,000 of his friends at the Alameda County Fair in California to chow down on crazy carnival eats like a mac and cheese-stuffed burger and a lobster dog. He also throws on his chef hat and defies the ice cream gods by forming ice cream into spaghetti and whipping up a spaghetti and meatball sundae.
