Plot Synopsis

Chef Gavin Kearney travels the Caribbean, meeting locals who introduce Gavin to the distinct cultural and culinary flavors of their country at local food stands and restaurants that are far away from the tourist traps. Gavin journeys through the entire Caribbean -- from St. Thomas, Costa Rica, Anguilla, Venezuela, Jamaica, St. Lucia, to Curacao and beyond -- allowing him to connect with various movers and shakers, including: recording star Bankie Banx, who shows Gavin the Anguillan Tour de France where pros and amateurs zip past spectacular white sand beaches and multi-million dollar resorts; a young Venezuelan baseball star, who is on his way to the States to play in the Major League but takes time to let Gavin cook up a going away feast; Miss World-St. Lucia, who takes Gavin on a catamaran cruise; a local painter in Curacao, who teaches Gavin about his culture as they cheer on high-tech racing yachts competing in a famous regatta; Rastafarian farmers from Estate Bordeaux on St. Thomas who help Gavin experience "island time"; and Colin and Barbara Reeve, who hire Gavin to cater a homecoming bash for their daughter Tammi on his home island of St. Thomas.
