Plot Synopsis

The original Captain Kirk, William Shatner, travels around the globe to interview the actors who have portrayed the role of Enterprise Captain: Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard), Kate Mulgrew (Captain Kathryn Janeway), Avery Brooks (Captain Benjamin Sisko), Scott Bakula (Captain Jonathan Archer), and Chris Pine (Captain James T. Kirk). Originally a full-length documentary film, THE CAPTAINS, which EPIX aired on Friday, July 22, 2011 as part of its "Shatnerpalooza" programming, this program returned as THE CAPTAINS CLOSE UP, a five-part series of half-hour episodes, on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 8pm ET on EPIX, with each episode dedicated to a single captain. Plus, each half-hour includes interviews with other big names of the STAR TREK world: Jonathan Frakes, Walter Koenig, Michael Dorn, Rene Auberjonois, Rick Berman, Brannon Braga, Robert Beltran, Ron Moore, Terry Farrell, Nana Visitor and Ira Steven Behr, to name a few.
