Plot Synopsis

Dr. Jan Pol runs a veterinary practice, specializing in large farm animals, in Central Michigan, and this half-hour syndicated series follows him as he makes farm calls, interacts with clients at his animal hospital, and treats pets that need his help. Whether he's birthing a calf on a farm or treating a shar-pei with entropion, Dr. Pol takes an old school, no-nonsense approach to veterinary medicine as he cares for every family pet and head of livestock in his rural town. This series premiered the weekend of Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 8am and 8:30am in most cities (check local listings) as part of Litton Entertainment's programming block, "One Magnificent Morning," a five-hour educational and informational programming block for teens and their families, airing on Saturday mornings on CW affiliates in the U.S.

Season 2 of CALLING DR. POL premiered on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 7-8am ET/PT, as The CW premiered back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener (7am), "Trading Places," Diane has to step in and act as Dr. Pol's assistant for the day after Charles injures his knee. She quickly finds out that this job is not her cup of tea. Then, in the second episode (7:30am), "Expecting and Ailing," Dr. Pol and Dr. Emily help out a couple of ailing cows and a sheep, while a mare and terrier mix are in need of prenatal care.
